The Mamba Mentality Lives

TMZ popped up on a friend’s Instagram story with the news. Shook my head. Can’t be real. It’s TMZ and it’s Instagram.

Hit Twitter to see if it was true.

Scrolling.

Scrolling.

Scrolling.

It was true. Kobe Bryant passed away in an accident.

I still can’t believe it.

So hard to accept. A man this great, larger than life – gone. In a helicopter accident? This man has access to the best pilots and helicopters in the world and he was still a victim to this.

I’m shocked.

Kobe was the person who first defined what greatness looked like for me. The work it took for him to become the man he was.

“Inspirational” doesn’t even do Kobe justice.

Even if you can’t remember the last time you watched basketball, I know Kobe’s presence touched you.

His work ethic. His belief system. He showed us what was possible.

If Kobe inspired you in any way shape or form, it’s on us to carry on the Mamba Mentality.

Rest in peace.
